Drug Testing Services
Drug testing supports both our Prevention Works and Recovery Works initiatives. SAC provides drug testing services for the 19th Judicial Circuit Court including Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Dependency Court, as well as the Department of Juvenile Justice, CORE Probation, Indian River County School Board, Charter School, and Department of Children and Families. In addition, local businesses utilize our testing facility for pre-employment and Drug-Free Workplace testing, and concerned parents or family members may use our testing to help address a loved one’s substance use.
Indian River County continues to experience a high level of drug-related activity. Drug and drug-related offenses are the most common crime in our community. Family drug use and addiction often coexist with anger and violence. Drug use by adolescents negatively impacts academic achievement and begins the on-going cycle of devastating consequences through adulthood. Our goal: stop the illicit use and abuse of all addictive substances and curtail the impact on the family, the criminal justice system, and society.
SAC’s drug-testing program provides objective, reliable, and valid results. Random drug testing is a key component of the treatment process aiding the clinician with an objective measure of progress or lack thereof. Drug tests help clinicians address the realities of a clients substance use and break through the barrier of denial. Accurate testing is the most objective and efficient way to establish a framework for accountability and to gauge each clients progress. Modern technology offers highly reliable testing to determine if an individual has recently used specific drugs.
On-site testing is available at the Substance Awareness Center office. The analyzer tests for cocaine, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, amphetamines, methamphetamines, alcohol, oxycodone, and marijuana.
